Patriot Dance Team Performs at “Jam the Gym” Showcase

“Jam the Gym” was a fun event for all as it was held on Sunday, January 20 in the Columbus High School Gym.

The 17th annual event, hosted by the CHS Diamond Dance Team, is a showcase of area talent, with high school teams, studio teams, and college teams all sharing the floor.  There were over 40 routines performed at the “safari” themed event this year. Parents, students, and other dance teams had a great time watching each dance team perform and preparing for their big moment on the floor.

The Patriot Elite Dance Team made their way down to Columbus and performed two jazz dances to a packed house. The six elite girls that danced were senior Abigail Langdon; juniors Quintessence Indra, Taya Gross and Brittney Urbanek; and sophomores Bethany Rupprecht and Bridget Rupprecht.  The team is coached by Erika Rupprecht and Rachel Rupprecht.

Taya Gross of Leigh had this to say about the event:

Jam the Gym was a great experience for our team because we got to watch both studio and school teams. Also, it was a great way to better prepare us for our upcoming competition at state dance!”

The Patriot dance team is looking forward to their upcoming events and we are all excited to see their accomplishments for the rest of the year!
