Senior Spotlight: Raoul Heilmann

August 31, 2001, was a wonderful day for Esen and Frederik Heilmann. It was the day that their first bundle of joy, Raoul Levent Heilmann, was welcomed into the world in Kaufbeuren, Bavaria, Germany.

Raoul’s family consists of himself, his parents and his one younger brother, Julian.

Raoul is a foreign exchange student from Germany.  His host parents are Cory and Wendy Krutz.

Raoul has been very excited to involve himself in the athletics at Leigh High School. This year he has participated in football, basketball, and track. His favorite memories from high school are the football games, and his favorite classes are Accounting and English.

Raoul’s future plans include going to three more years of school then either studying or start working. When asked where he sees himself in 10-15 years, he says that he will be working and owning his own apartment.

Outside of school, Raoul busies himself by meeting with friends, meeting in town, and participating in sports. His favorite TV show is The Fresh Prince of Bel Air or Modern Family.

His favorite song varies, but he loves songs by 21 Savage. His favorite sports team is the OKC Thunder, but he also loves Miami Heat, but only with Dwyane Wade playing. His favorite American restaurant is Arby’s.

Raoul’s worst habit is being lazy. He says that he is especially lazy on the weekend. The three words he decided best describe him are nice, direct, and honest.

He doesn’t really think that he has a most embarrassing moment, but he once walked into a mirror in a clothing store.

When asked what he would do with money if he won the lottery he said “Depends on how much, if it is a big amount of money I would buy myself a house and if there is enough left also buy my parents one.”

He says that if he could travel anywhere in the world he would travel to Brazil because he thinks it’s pretty cool there.

Raoul’s bucket list includes traveling, owning his own home, and learning how to ride a motorcycle.

He says that the person he admires most in his life is his mom. He says that she always tried to make everything possible.

Raoul would like to leave the underclassman with a little advice. His advice is “School is over, now it’s time to learn.”
