Dance Team Leads Youth Camp

It’s time to “Shake!”

On September 20, the Clarkson- Leigh Dance Team held a “Shake” themed dance camp at the Leigh Elementary. The Preschoolers and Kindergarteners learned their dance from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and the 1st through 6th graders learned their dance from 10 a.m. to noon. Then on September 27th the girls performed their new dances they learned!

“I was in charge of choreographing a dance for the fourth through sixth graders. I felt it ran smoothly, just like it usually does,” said senior Brittney Urbanek.  “We had a great turn out and we can’t wait until basketball season to see the girls again!”

The dance team of Brittney Urbanek, Taya Gross, Bridget Rupprecht, Bethany Rupprecht, Tess Indra, Kelsey Moore, and Morgan Brabec helped teach 59 dancers.

The kids were broken up into three groups based on their age. The Preschool and Kindergarteners danced to The Little Mermaid “Jump in the Line”. The 1st- 3rd graders danced to “Shake it Up” and the 4th- 6th graders danced to “Shake it Off”. The High Schoolers then also danced to a “Shake” mix: “Shake it Up”, “Shake your Groove Thing”, and “Shake it”.

“We had a really good turnout, and all the girls had lots of fun!” said Erika Rupprecht, the Elite Dance Coach.
