Junior High Athletics Conclude Fall Seasons

As the weather gets colder and the leaves start falling, our junior high athletics have come to a close. After playing a number of games throughout the season, both sports ended with successful records.

Throughout the season, the football boys played a total of six games. Their last three games were against Howells-Dodge on October 7th, Lutheran High North East on October 14th, and Wisner-Pilger on October 21st. The end scores of these games were 30-32, 54-4, and 41-6 accordingly. And by winning 2 out of 3, the boys ended their season with a 5-1 record.

Head coach Andrew Faltys said, "I thought the boys did an outstanding job this year. It was fun to see them compete and grow throughout the year as a player and a person. These kids have a bright future, and I can't wait to see what their future holds."

Looking towards the future, eighth-grader Dylan Higby said, “I think that as a team we improved a lot since the beginning of the season, and it was fun to play with such a good team. It will be fun to watch us improve at our high school career in the next four years.”

As for junior high volleyball, their three teams were very successful as well. The “C” team improved throughout the season, the “B” team had a 6-4 record, and the “A” team was 10-1.

Head coach Kim Heimann said, “Overall, this was a great group of girls. I feel like their court awareness and mental toughness of finishing a game has greatly improved.”

As a result, their last three games against Humphrey St. Fran, Stanton, and Madison all ended in wins for the “A” and “B” teams.

Seventh-graders Ella Urban and Brianne Kuhr said, “We all improved in a lot of skills, and we’re excited for next near. It was a great experience and an awesome season!”
