Track Season Starts in Osceola

To start off the season, the Patriots Varsity Track team took a trip down to Osceola to participate in their first track meet on March 28, 2024. This meet consisted of 8 teams. 
There were several Patriot athletes that placed in the top eight, and multiple people brought home golds! The girls’ team finished runner-up overall as a team and the boys finished 5th overall as a team. Overall, it was a very successful meet for the Patriots first meet of the season. 
    Freshman Maizie Stoklasa and junior Brynn Settje were most successful for the girls’ team. Stoklasa placed 1st in Triple Jump, 100M Dash, 200M Dash, and 4x100 Relay. Brynn Settje placed 1st in Long Jump, 2nd in Triple Jump, and 1st in 4x100. 
    For the boys’, senior Trey Steffensmeier placed 1st in Long Jump, 3rd in Triple Jump, and 2nd place in 4x100. 
Junior Izabel Hollatz said, “I thought that the track meet went very well! We had a lot of people place in their event, which was great considering it was our first one of the season. The girls also placed 2nd, so that was an amazing start to the season!
Head girls’ coach Mrs. Bri Wietfeld said, “The first meet of the season always brings excitement.  This meet not only brought excitement, it brought success. We had several athletes pick up where they left off from last year and several freshmen make their names known. I was proud of all the kids that competed and all team members.  We are a well-rounded team with hard-working athletes.
