Kayden Schumacher and Izzy Hollatz Named Students of the Month
Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe students at Leigh High School have a special tradition each month where two students are dubbed the “Student of the Month”. The two recipients for the month of September were Izzy Hollatz and Kayden Schumacher.
Izzy Hollatz is the daughter of Kylie and Willie Hollatz, and granddaughter of Dave and Joan Hollatz, and Jim and Lanette Bathen.
She is a member of volleyball, basketball, track, and FCCLA. Her favorite class is math.
Outside of school, Izzy enjoys hanging out with friends, playing volleyball, and swimming. When she grows up, she would like to be a nurse.
When asked how it felt to win this award, she responded, “I am really excited to get this award! I also want to thank the teachers for nominating me.”
Here’s what Izzy’s teachers had to say about her:
“Izzy is adjusting to the Junior High well and works hard to maintain good grades while still enjoying extra-curricular activities.”
“Izzy is always thoroughly prepared. She behaves well. She has excellent grades. She is willing to take the lead.”
Kayden Schumacher was the other recipient of this award. She is the daughter of Jeremy Schumacher and Marin Zabka. Kayden’s grandparents are Mike and Tammy Schumacher, Gary Gotschall, and Christine Odgard.
She is a part of volleyball, basketball, track, FCCLA, FBLA, journalism, yearbook, and One Act. Her favorite class is art. Kayden enjoys spending time with family and friends in her spare time.
The junior said, “It feels very rewarding to get this award because I have been working very hard this school year on my studies and my extracurricular activities.”

“She is very kind and helpful. She is fun to have in class and does a great job in her academics. She has also been a very hard working and emerging leader in her activities as well.”
“Kayden is a great kid with the biggest smile. She works extremely hard in and out of the classroom.”
