Senior Spotlight: Logan Becher

On February 23, 2001, Bill and Jill Becher welcomed a bubbly baby boy into the world in Columbus, NE.  The youngest of two children, Logan Zachary Becher was welcomed home by his older sister, Kaitlyn, who is now 21.

Logan’s grandparents are Oliver and Marge Johnson of Leigh, and Angie Becher of Columbus and the late Darrell Becher. His family wouldn’t be complete without his dog, Kinley, and cats, Rocket and Lucy.

To get to know this senior a little bit better, Logan says the three best words to describe him are “quiet, kind, and fun.”

Logan has many favorite things.  His favorite subject in school is social studies. His favorite movies are the Divergent series, his favorite TV show is Parks and Recreation, his favorite song is “Timekeeper” by Greyson Chance, his favorite food is chicken alfredo, and his favorite sports team is the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Outside of school, you can find Logan doing his favorite activities, hitting the golf course hanging out with friends, and watching Netflix.

Throughout school, Logan has been involved in dance at Step’s at Tiffany’s for 13 years; FFA, FCCLA, One-Act, band, golf, and journalism for four years; speech and Youth Advisory Council for three years; choir for two years, and Quiz Bowl and basketball for one year.  He is also a member of St. John’s Luther League.

Logan has received honors in many activities. He was awarded his Proficiency in FFA, and was a finalist for State One-Act Best Actor this year.  Logan was also named “Student of the Month” many times over the course of his high school career.

Out of all these accomplishments, Logan says the accomplishment he is most proud of is making it to State One-Act all four years.

After high school, Logan plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  His major is undecided, but he is deciding between a career in architecture, law, or education.

In 10-15 years, Logan sees himself married with kids and owning his own house.

Someday, if he wins the lottery, Logan says he would pay off student debt and buy a vacation home in the Swiss Alps.

Logan says his advice to underclassmen is “Have fun while it lasts.  I didn’t realize until the past few months that high school goes by a lot faster than you think.”

Congratulations Logan on all your achievements and best of luck in the future!
