Patriots Sweep the Titans

After coming off a successful weekend winning the Stanton tournament, come Tuesday it was time to play the Twin River Titans. On September 20, 2023, the Patriots hosted the struggling and winless Titan team in Leigh.

The Patriots started off the night well with the C-team crushing the Titans in two sets. The ending scores were 25-7 and 25-11.

After the C team game, JV also came out and took the win against Titans, 25-13 and 25-18 in two sets.

In the varsity game the girls came out ready to play, and they accomplished their goals of the night. Their celebration and high energy made them come out with the win in three sets.

Izzy Hollatz, a junior at Leigh, said, “We took care of business during the Twin River game! We were able to keep our lead for the entire game, and our entire bench even got the opportunity to play, making it a full team effort. It was honestly just a fun game to show us as a team what our abilities truly are!”

“We thought we did some really good things, however there were a few things we probably could have done better,” said Head Coach Mrs. Becky Schneider. “They were a good serving team so we struggled a little bit on serve receive to get that pass on target and we could have also brought a little more communication!  On the flip side, we served really well and went on some big runs so we were able to keep the momentum!”

The Patriots have still yet to lose a set, leaving them 15-0 this season!
