Cyclone Softball Kicks Off Season!
Once again, Leigh, Clarkson, and Howells-Dodge are co-oping for girls’ softball under the name Highway 91 Cyclone softball. Their season began August 19 at the Wayne Invite, where they played four games.
After this tournament, the girls’ record sits at 2-2.
“Overall it was a great day and I was very happy with the outcome, and I am very excited to see where the season takes us,” junior shortstop and catcher Meranda Kudrna said.
Playing Pierce the first game of the tournament, the Cyclones won 7-4. They faced Ponca for their second game, and they also won this game with a score of 7-2. For their third game, the Cyclones played Twin River, losing 1-8. In their final game of the day, the Cyclones played Wayne, losing10-0.
Clarkson freshman Molly Langhorst said, “I am just really proud of the way my team worked together to get the outs that we were able to get. I think that considering it was our first games, we did pretty good even though we went 2-2. It makes me happy to see that in addition to our fantastic group of seniors this year, even our freshmen do a lot to help our team’s success. I am very excited to see where our season takes us!”
