Sydney Geier Earns High Honors at Conference Art Show

The East Husker Conference Art Show was held at the Nielsen Center in West Point on Wednesday, April 11.  16 schools competed in 30 categories.

Under the direction of Mrs. Ann Cerv, Leigh High School did very well!

Juniors Holly Kuhr and Mackenzie Williams earned white ribbons for Honorable Mention.

Earning red ribbons for Honorable were freshmen Alissa Kasik, Kayden Schumacher, Emily Loseke, and Cassidy Hoffman; as well as juniors Meranda Kudrna and Williams; and senior Sydney Geier.

Schumacher, Loseke, and Kudrna also earned blue ribbons for Distinction, along with freshman Dynaha Nelson, sophomores Taya Gross and Reagan Settje, and junior Kaegan Held.

Geier took top prize for Leigh, winning top prize of “Highest Distinction” in the Graphite category for her self portrait where she interweaved her face into the background.
