Every year the month of May is both joyous and bittersweet, full of new beginnings, but also sad endings.

On May 11, 2018, eleven Leigh High School students walked through the gym for a final time for commencement ceremony.

The Class of 2018 chose silver grey, royal blue, and red as their class colors.  The senior class motto is “You only live once, but once you live like us, once is enough.”  The senior class flower is a blue carnation with white tips. Their class song is “It’s Time” by Imagine Dragons.

Michaela Hall was named the class Valedictorian, and Sydney Geier was the Salutatorian.

The graduation ceremony started at 6 pm.  Visitors were welcomed by the junior ushers: Logan Becher, Holly Kuhr, Kaegan Held, and Hannah Kasik.

The ceremony began with a class highlight and memory video.  The seniors then marched to the stage as the Clarkson-Leigh Band played “Pomp and Circumstance.”

Class Salutatorian Sydney Geier gave the welcome.

Following the scholarship presentation, the seniors presented flowers to their parents.

Next, Michaela Hall gave her valedictorian speech, which was followed by the presentation of the diplomas by Superintendent Petersen and School Board President Jason Mullenhoff.

Next, High School guidance counselor Karen Hillen announced the scholarships won by members of the graduating class.  The scholarships are as follows:
