Kuhr and Becher Crowned 2018 Homecoming Royalty

Both Leigh and Clarkson announced homecoming king and queen after the football game on October 6, 2018.

 

The 2018 girl candidates from Leigh were Hannah Kasik, Holly Kuhr, Kaegan Held, and Meranda Kudrna. The boy candidates were Daniel Beller, Logan Becher, Cort Pokorney, and Raoul Heilmann.

 

This year’s crown bearers from Leigh were Ryan McMullin, son of Mark and Julie McMullin, and Bergan Settje, daughter of Chad and Kristi Settje. They are 1st graders.

 

The 2018 girl candidates from Clarkson were Beth Wiese, Halee Steffensmeier, Paige Moore, and Sara McEvoy. The boy candidates were John Langhorst, Travis Stanley, Douglas Pocasangre, and Garrett Sayers.

 

This year’s crown bearers from Clarkson were Cooper Fehringer, son of Kim and Aaron Fehringer, and Logan Andrews, daughter of Jenae Jindra. They are kindergarteners.

 

Last year’s king and queen from Clarkson, Korbin Kudera and Breanna Ashton, crowned this year’s king and queen from Clarkson.

 

Last year’s king and queen from Leigh, Anthony Bruhn and Sydney Folken., crowned this year’s king and queen from both Leigh.

 

This year’s king and queen from Clarkson were Douglas Pocasangre and Beth Wiese.

 

This year’s king and queen from Leigh were Logan Becher and Holly Kuhr.

 

Kaegan Held is the daughter of Kip and Kamin Held. Kaegan has been involved in: volleyball, basketball, track, band and FFA for 4 years. Journalism, one act and speech for 4 years. National Honor Society, quiz bowl, yearbook and Youth Advisory Council for 3 years. FBLA for 2 years and dance for 1 year. Kaegan is a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Her college decision is yet undecided. She is planning to major in Biology emphasizing in veterinary science.

 

Logan Schroeder is the son of Jill and Bill Becher. Logan’s High School involvement has included: golf, band, journalism, one act, speech, FFA, FCCLA for 4 years. National Honor Society and Youth Advisory Council for 3 years. Choir for 2 years and basketball for 1 year. Logan is a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Leigh. His plans are to major in Architecture with his college choice undecided at this time.

 

Hannah Kasik is the daughter of Heather and Joe Kasik. Hannah has been involved in:

volleyball, basketball and FFA for 4 years. National Honor Society, track, one act, band, journalism, and yearbook for 3 years. Hannah is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Her plans are to attend Northeast Community College to become a Physical Therapy Assistant.

 

Daniel Beller is the son of Lisa and Darren Beller. Daniel has been involved for 4 years in: FFA, band and one act. He has participated in golf for 3 years and basketball for 2. Daniel is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. His plans are to attend Southeast Community College and his major is still undecided.

 

Meranda Kudrna is the daughter of Kim and Greg Noonan and the late James Kudrna. Meranda has participated in: softball, one act and choir for 4 years. Youth Advisory Council for 3 years, yearbook for 2 years, and journalism for 1 year. She is a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Platte Center and is planning to attend Central Community College and major in Lower Elementary Education.

 

Raoul Heilmann is a foreign exchange student from Germering, Germany. His parents are Esen and Frederik Heilmann and his host parents are Wendy and Kory Krutz.

Raoul will be participating in football and basketball while in Leigh this year. His plans after graduating High School are yet undecided.

 

Holly Kuhr is the daughter of Beth and Russ Kuhr. Holly has participated in volleyball, speech, one act and FFA for 4 years. National Honor Society, quiz bowl, yearbook and journalism for 3 years. Golf and Youth Advisory Council for 2 years and basketball and track for 1 year. Holly belongs to St. Mary’s Catholic Church and plans to attend Wayne State College in Radiography.

 

Cort Pokorney is the son of Robin and John Pokorney. Cort’s high school involvement has included football, FFA, one act, band and journalism for 4 years. Youth Advisory Council, National Honor Society, quiz bowl and track for 3 years and basketball for 1 year. Cort’s plans are to attend Northeast Community College and major in Agronomy.

 

There was a dance held the following night for all students in grades 9-12 from both Clarkson and Leigh.
