ESU 7 Provides RESPECT Assembly for Leigh Students

“I’m here for you.”

This was the main message of the assembly presented at Leigh High School earlier this month.  Hearing these four words can make a difference in a person's life.

March 12, 2019, was a very educational day for the elementary and junior high students at Leigh.

The RESPECT group out of Omaha came and talked to grades 4-12 for an assembly.  This was provided through ESU 7 and was funded by the Kim Foundation of Nebraska.

The assembly was part of a two-part series, and this was the second time the group has came to speak to Leigh students, after having been here previously this past fall.

This time, they presented on drinking, relationships, and bullying. During the presentation the group created scenarios and role played for the students to join. Some of the students that joined them for the junior high portion of the assembly were Leah Pinkston, Morgan Bunner, Lilly Bunner, Emily Moore, Aubrie Hannah, and Xander Ross.

Seventh grader Aubrie Hannah said, “It was a really great program for us, and it taught us more about responsible ways to react in bad or unsafe situations.”
