Three LHS Students Attend Tech Fair

Technology is all around us and we need to be prepared for it.

Three students, Cortlynn Cadwallader, Albert Diaz, and Zoey Van Dyke, from Leigh High School, got to attend the Schuyler Tech Fair on October 16th along with students from several other area schools.

Speaker Mike Smith spoke about how he started his nonprofit and how he got to where he is today. Afterward they visited the booths from local colleges in the area. They later went to a workshop where they were given 20 minutes to build a bridge that could support 5 pounds. They received door prizes from the raffle with sophomore Cortlynn Cadwallader winning a camera.

Freshman Albert Diaz commented on the event.

“The Tech Fair was excellent,” Diaz said. “The speaker, Mike Smith, had a great speech.

Leigh technology integrationist, Mrs. Kylie Hollatz, had much to say about the tech fair.

“The Schuyler Tech Fair was inspirational because we were able to listen to Mike Smith about how to be you and it is okay to pursue your passions.  Students also were able to use their problem-solving skills during a Discovery Education session building a bridge out of clay and toothpicks that had to hold five pounds.  Overall, this day was a very beneficial day for the kids.”
