Junior High GBB Wins BRLD Tournament
What a way to end a season for the junior high girls’ basketball team! Their season came to a close on Saturday January 25th with the A team getting a championship medal at the Bancroft-Rosalie/Lyons-Decatur tournament. The B team placed second.
The B team started the morning playing Winnebago and pulled off an easy win, while the A team also played Winnebago and won.
Both A and B team played for 1st and 2nd place. B team played Pender and lost with a good battle. The A team won for the second year in a row beating BRLD.
“This tournament was a great culmination of our season this year,” assistant coach Melissa Brabec said. “These girls worked hard and persevered through many different situations. Each player was able to score and put their skills to work. There was a lot of success, not only through games as a team, but also individually for each player. It was exciting to see growth in our fundamentals and celebrate with each player. I am looking forward to see what next year brings for all of the girls!”
The A team finished their season off 12-2, while the B team finished off 7-3. Great job lady Patriots for an amazing season!
