LHS Welcomes New Business Teacher

By: Sage Fernau, freshman at Leigh High School

Leigh Community Schools is very happy to welcome one of our new teachers, Ms. Jennifer Remmereid. Ms. Remmereid is the new high school business teacher.

Before coming to teach here in Leigh, Ms. Remmereid taught business and technology classes at Ord High School for 13 years.

Ms. Remmereid grew up on her family farm in Petersburg, NE.  She went to Central Community College to earn an Associate's Degree.  She then attended Emporia State University, earning her Bachelor's degree in Education with a major in Business, and UNK receiving a Master's Degree in Instructional Technology. In college she played volleyball in Columbus Community College, and at Emporia State University.

When she is not teaching, Ms. Remmereid will also be the assistant coach for volleyball, the assistant coach for girls’ basketball, and the co-FBLA adviser.  In her spare time, Ms. Remmereid enjoys kayaking and fishing. In high school Ms. Remmereid played five instruments: B-flat clarinet, contrabass clarinet, alto clarinet, tenor saxophone, and baritone saxophone.

Ms. Remmereid says she is excited to be a part of the new school, and has enjoyed getting to know the kids and staff members so far.

“There are great things happening in Leigh, and I am so happy to be a part of the community,” Ms. Remmereid said.
