Leigh Students Visit Citizens State Bank

Leigh’s Personal Finance class visited Citizens State Bank in Leigh on Tuesday, October 13, to learn about different bank accounts and how to start a career in finance.

Jan Wietfeld, Citizens State Bank Vice-President, welcomed the students and introduced them to other Leigh employees who answered any questions the students had. She also gave the students mock situations and explained which bank account would work best.

Junior Audie Tejkl said, “Going to the bank was beneficial; we got to ask questions about various bank accounts and what situations each account would work best for.”

The personal finance class is taught by Ms. Jennifer Remmereid, and the five high school students learn how to handle their financial future, such as filing their taxes, paying for college, and starting savings accounts.
