By: Morgan Bunner, a freshman at Leigh High School

The Patriot boys’ golf team hosted their own home invitational at Club 91 Golf Course on April 14, 2021.

The 13 teams consisted of Clarkson/Leigh, Howells-Dodge, Aquinas, Humphrey/LHF, Cedar Bluffs, David City, North Bend, St. Francis, Plainview, Lutheran High, Clarkson/Leigh JV, High Plains and BRLD. Clarkson-Leigh Varsity placed 6th with a 382 overall, while Clarkson-Leigh JV finished 10th with a 443 overall.

In the individual standings, sophomore Mason Whitmore placed 15th with a score of 92 after 18 holes.

Sophomore JV golfer Dalton Zulkoski said, “For the Leigh home tournament, I thought we did pretty well as a team. We kept our varsity score under 400, and it has been a long time since we did that last. We also had Mason place. So overall I think that this was a pretty good tournament all around.”
