Class of 2022 Senior Spotlight: Natalie Brabec

By: Kennedy Settje, a senior at Leigh High School

On April 22, 2004, Dustin and Melissa Brabec were blessed with their youngest daughter, Natalie Ann Brabec. Natalie’s older sister, Abbi, also welcomed her home!

Natalie is the granddaughter of Cal and Sue Fuhr and Charmayne and the late Gary Brabec, both from Leigh, NE.

In her time at LHS, Natalie has been active in many activities.  She has participated in FCCLA for six years; One-Act for five years; FBLA, volleyball, choir, and journalism for four years; track, 4-H, and yearbook for three years; and FFA for 2 years.

During this time, Natalie has had many accomplishments. Natalie Brabec was an FCCLA chapter president. She has been named “Student of the Month” 6 times!  She lettered has been selected for East Husker Conference honor choir for 3 years. She also says she is proud to say she has participated in state One-Act twice and state volleyball once.

But despite all the aforementioned accomplishments, Natalie’s proudest high school accomplishment and favorite high school memories come from being a Nebraska State FCCLA officer this year.

Three words that are commonly used to describe Natalie are kind, involved, and happy.

If she won the lottery, she said she would use the money to pay off any debt and buy a house. She also said that if she could travel anywhere, she would go to Paris because she has always wanted to see the Eiffel Tower at night.

Some of Natalie’s favorites include the TV show Chicago Fire and the restaurant Texas Roadhouse. Natalie also said that her favorite class is Parenting. Her favorite hobbies are shopping and spending time with her family and friends.

Natalie has three goals on her bucket list: travel the world, raise a family, and pay off any debt. In 15 years, she says she sees herself having a stable job with a husband and kids.

In the future, Natalie plans to attend Northeast Community College majoring in Ag Business.

Natalie said that she has so many people she admires in her life, but if she had to choose just one, it would be her mom because she has always been there for her and has encouraged her in everything she’s done.

Natalie leaves LHS underclassmen with a bit of advice before she goes: “Have fun, it goes by fast! Also, don’t procrastinate!”

We wish Natalie the best of luck in her future endeavors!
