Class of 2022 Senior Spotlight: Jacob Eisenmann

By: Carter Brabec, a freshman at Leigh High School

On October 10th, 2003, Kimberly and David Eisenmann were blessed with their oldest son, Jacob David Eisenmann.

Jacob now has three siblings: one sister Gracie, who is 16; and two brothers, Luke, who is 14; and Wyatt, who is 11. They have one pet, a dog by the name of Scout.

In his time at LHS, Jacob has been active in many activities.  He has participated in 4-H, FFA, One-Act, and basketball for four years; band for two years; and golf and football for one year.  He has also been a member of the Leigh Youth Advisory Committee for three years.

During this time, Jacob has had many accomplishments.  Jacob Eisenmann is a three-year member of National Honor Society, and Jacob has also been a recipient of “Student of the Month” in school.

Looking back, Jacob’s proudest high school accomplishment was qualifying for state FFA in Livestock Judging, Meats Judging, Livestock Management, and Land Judging. He is also District Champion in Beef Production Placement Proficiency.

In the future, Jacob plans to attend Northeast Community College majoring in Diversified Agriculture. Then Jacob plans to return to the family farm. In the future, when Jacob wins the lottery, he plans to buy cattle, land, tractors, and a pickup.

In 10-15 years he sees himself working on the farm, starting a family, and building a “shouse.”

If Jacob could travel anywhere in the world he would go to South Dakota to go to a barn and sell and buy cattle, then Colorado to tour the Five River Feedyards and Denver to the Stock Show.

Jacobs biggest pet peeves/bad habits are people complaining and people being lazy.

The three words that best describe Jacob are hardworking, smart, funny. His three goals on his bucket list to accomplish are starting a cow-calf operation, building a shouse for him and his wife and expanding his farm operation.

He says if he had to pick someone had admired in life, he would pick his grandparents because they work very hard and have taught him a lot of useful things and lessons that have helped shaped him into the person he is today.

Jacob’s favorite hobbies to do out of school are farming, hunting, fishing, trapping, showing cattle and pigs, and watching cattle auctions. Jacob’s favorite TV show is Dukes of Hazzard, and his favorite song is “Two Dozen Roses” by Shenandoah. He also likes eating steak, potatoes and corn while he watches the Nebraska sport teams.  It goes without saying that Jacob’s favorite class in school is Ag.

Jacob leaves LHS underclassmen with a bit of advice before he goes: “Be involved and do things you enjoy in school, and have fun outside of school too.”

Congratulations to Jacob on his upcoming graduation!  We wish him the very best in the future.
