A New Chapter for LHS

Mr. Andrew Faltys Joins Staff as New 7-12 Principal

A new, but familiar face is walking the halls of the high school this year. The kids and staff are excited to welcome Mr. Andrew Faltys as the newest member of the Leigh administration, as the new 7-12 principal and Athletic Director.

Most of the kids already know Mr. Faltys. For the past seven years, he has been a middle school teacher at Clarkson, teaching math, social studies, and science.  He has also been a junior high football coach, high school assistant boys’ basketball coach, and head boys’ golf coach over the years.  Knowing many students’ names already has helped for a nice transition to principal this year.

Prior to teaching at Clarkson, Mr. Faltys graduated from Howells High School in 2008.  He attended Wayne State College and graduated with his bachelor's degree in 2015 and earned his master’s degree in administration in 2021.

Mr. Faltys is married to Carly Faltys and has two girls: Laikyn, 4, and Bergyn, 17 months.

In his free time, he likes to golf and spend time with his family.

Mr. Faltys is excited by his new position and enjoying his first few weeks.

“With this being my first year as 7-12 principal, there are a lot of things to learn, but I am very excited for this new chapter in my educational journey,” Mr. Faltys said. “The one thing that I want to accomplish as the principal here at LCS is bringing this entire school even closer and becoming more of a ‘family.’

“We have a great staff and students in this building, and I want everyone to feel like they are welcome and enjoy coming to school. This is a great place to be and I am so glad that I get to be a part of it.”

Everyone is very excited to have Mr Faltys, and we look forward to seeing what this upcoming year brings for our school!
