Patriots Scoop Up Third at Stanton Tourney
The Patriot Volleyball Team hit the road for an away tournament on Saturday, September
17th. They played three games at Stanton and earned themselves 3rd place at this tournament.
The Patriots played Cedar Catholic, Crofton, and Stanton. The Patriots played Cedar
Catholic and lost to them during their 3-set game. The Patriots then defeated Crofton in 2 sets
and Stanton in 3 sets.
Tanyn Larson, a Junior at Leigh, said “The Stanton Volleyball Tournament was a lot of
great competition. We started off the morning great! The second game we had a great battle, but
finished just a little bit short. Overall it was great to end the day with a win finishing third!
Coach Becky Schneider added, “There was a lot of really good competition at the Stanton
Tournament and we played some really tough teams! We went 2-1 on the day which is a huge
positive especially coming in as the 5th seed and finishing 3rd, so I'd say we had a lot of success!
We are getting better every practice and that really showed on Saturday! Our team flow and
energy were really good, and we will look to continue to build on that!”
This brings the Patriot record to 8-4 on the season.
