New Ag Teacher at Leigh High

Leigh Community Schools students and staff are excited to welcome a new ag teacher to the staff this year, Mr. Jarrod Bazata.

Mr. Bazata grew up in Howells, Nebraska, and attended Howells High School. After he graduated high school, he earned a degree in Industrial Technology Education from Wayne State College. He is currently working toward earning a degree in Ag Education.

In college, he worked several different jobs. Once he graduated from college, he taught Industrial Technology at Wisner-Pilger for four years. He then took one year off of teaching and worked for the town of Howells. After this, he then decided to take the ag teacher position for Leigh High School.

In addition to teaching Ag classes, Mr. Bazata is the FFA co-advisor with Mrs. Alyssa Went.  He also coaches junior high football.

Mr. Bazata has two siblings, a younger brother and sister. He is married to his wife, Carrie Bazata, and they live near Howells. Some of Mr. Bazata’s favorite hobbies include working on his farm, lifting weights, and doing various outdoor activities. His favorite professional sports team is the Minnesota Vikings.

Mr. Bazata said, “I like how everyone was so welcoming when I first came to Leigh Community Schools. I really like the small town feeling that this school and community gives you and just how nice and helpful everyone has been so far from the students in the school to the community. It’s great to have that feeling of support.”

Everyone is excited and looking forward to having Mr. Bazata as our new Ag teacher in this upcoming school year!
