November Students of the Month Announced

Dylan Brabec, Sofia Hake, and Luke Eisenmann Lead the Way at LHS!

For the month of November, LHS teachers awarded three “Student of the Month” awards. The three students who won this award were senior Dylan Brabec, and freshmen Sofia Hake and Luke Eisenmann.

Dylan Brabec, son of Andy and April Brabec, is a senior in Leigh High School. He is the grandson of Lucy and Larry Nathan, Charmayne Brabec, and the late Gary Brabec.

Dylan is involved in FFA, One Act, Youth Advisory Committee, and 4-H this year. His favorite subject in school is an Ag. Dylan enjoys getting to learn about many different topics in Ag. Some of his hobbies outside of school are fixing up older vehicles, working, detailing equipment, and riding dirt bikes with friends.

In the future, Dylan plans to attend Northeast Community College majoring in Agronomy. Then after that, he plans to come back and run his family’s custom farming business.

This is Dylan’s first time winning Student of the Month.

Dylan, upon receiving the award, said, “Winning an award always makes a person feel good about themselves and feel a sense of accomplishment.”

Here’s what Dylan’s teachers said about him:

--“He is such a responsible, hard-working young man. He has always been a dependable student, but his ability to express himself and his drive to try his best on every single assignment has really grown over the years. He is also NEVER in a bad or negative mood. He is really fun to have in class and marks others around him to have a better day.”

--“Dylan is a great student and an even better person. Even when other students don’t want to work in shop class, he is always taking over and making up for what those students missed by not working on their project. He always has ideas but at the same time is always open to different ideas and suggestions on how to make things better. He is trustworthy and hardworking.”

The second winner of this award was freshman, Sofiia Hake.

Sofia is the daughter of Kevin and Tracy Hake. She is the granddaughter of Jane and Dwane Mick and Archie and Doris Hake.

This is Sofia’s second time winning the award.

This year Sophia is involved in Patriot Vision Board Team and Choir. Her favorite subject is social studies. Her favorite hobbies outside of school are drawing, singing, and working on the farm.

In the future, Sofia wants to go to a local college, so that she can stay close to her family. After college she wants to become a farmer and work with cattle.

Sofia said, "I am proud to win this award, and I’m happy people think I have been more outgoing, since I am a very quiet person.”

Here is what Sofia’s teachers said about her:

--“Sofia has always been a hard worker and pleasant to be around. But it seems as though she has become such an outgoing person this year! It is great to see her getting involved in the activities that she feels comfortable with like Patriot Vision.”

--“Sofia is a very kind and friendly student who is fun to be around. She is always willing to work hard and help out and always has a positive attitude.”

Our final student of the month winner for this month was freshman, Luke Eisenmann.

Luke is son of Dave and Kim Eisenmann. He is the grandson of Ken and Janet Eisenmann and Jim and Jeanne Stuart.

This is Luke’s first time winning Student of the Month.

This year Luke is involved in football, basketball, FFA, One-Act, Speech, and Youth Advisory Committee. His favorite subject in school is social studies. His favorite out of school activities include baking, watching sports, and playing video games.

Luke says he’s still undecided about his future plans after high school, but he definitely has some time to figure it all out yet!

This is what Luke has to say about winning student of the month: “It’s an honor to receive this award and it goes to show all of my hard work and time I’ve been putting into school and extra curriculars.”

Here is what Luke’s teachers said about him:

--“Luke is excellent student who is fun to have in class. He is naturally inquisitive and fun to teach.  He has really been working hard in all his extracurricular activities this year as well, and has really been a standout in this year’s One-Act play, which is a great feat for a freshman!

--“Luke is always a hard-working and competitive student. He pushes himself to be his best in everything he does. He also keeps class interesting with his sense of humor and unique comments!”
