Patriots Finish Champ and Runner-Up at St. Francis Meet
The Clarkson-Leigh Patriot track team headed to Humphrey for the St. Francis track meet on April 25, 2023. The Patriots had a great day with great weather for the meet.
There were eight teams competing, including Humphrey-Lindsay, Humphrey St. Francis, Riverside, Stanton, Neligh-Oakdale, Twin River, and Madison. Many of the competition was new and was a good way to get a feel for where the team sits as a whole.
The Girls competed and got 1st overall, while the boys placed 2nd overall. The girls had a dominant performance in the meet, while the boys lost in a close team race.
Macy Clausen, a junior from Leigh, said, “The Humphrey track meet was a great day for the team. We were able to come out in good weather and get some personal bests. It was really great to see the girls get first and the boys get runner up.”
Brynn Settje a sophomore at Leigh also said, “The Humphrey St. Fran track meet went very well for both girls and boys. I feel like everyone on our team did very well in every event that they participated in”.
