Mrs. Wemhoff brings her love of music to LCS

Starting the 2023-2024 school year, Mrs. Sydney Wemhoff took over Choir for K-12 after Mrs. Cindy Settje took a big step and retired.
Mrs. Wemhoff graduated from Leigh High School in 2018, and then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and a coaching endorsement at Wayne State College.
Before coming to teach at Leigh, Mrs. Wemhoff taught choir at Lakeview. It was her first teaching job after college. She will not be coaching any sports this year, but hopes to coach the upcoming years.
When she is not teaching, Mrs. Wemhoff enjoys golf, playing cards, watching movies and spending time with family and friends.
She is married to Cole Wemhoff, whom teaches math at Columbus.
When asked to give a quote about how she thinks her first year at Leigh is going to go, Mrs. Wemhoff said, “I am looking forward to a great year in the music department! We have a growing amount of band members and a balanced group in our choir. I am excited to start with the band students; we have recruited quite a few new members already! We have a large number of 5th graders joining band this year which is exciting for the future of the program!”
