Golfers Compete in East Husker

The Clarkson-Leigh varsity golf team competed at the East Husker Conference golf meet at Fair Play Public Golf Course in Norfolk on May 8, 2023. 

The boys competed against Tekamah-Herman, Pender, Oakland-Craig, North Bend Central, Stanton, West Point-Beemer, Howells-Dodge, Twin River, Wisner-Pilger, Lyons-Decatur Northeast, Madison, Bancroft-Rosalie and Humphrey-Lindsay Holy Family. 

The boys finished in the middle of the pack in 7th place out of 14 teams. 

Head Coach Connor Blum said, “Conference was really tough this year. Our boys battled like they have all year, and we ended up breaking another school record for low team score. I feel like we are hitting our stride right before districts.”

Ryan Brichacek shot the low score for the Patriots with 89 after 18 holes.  Mic Sayers shot 90, Quentin Mullenhoff finished with 91, Max Muhle shot 94, and Jase Indra finished 107 for a team score of 471. Tekamah-Herman won the meet, and Pender took 2nd.
