Students Celebrate!
Homecoming Week this year was filled with fun dress-up days and lots of other
activities. There were dress up days, a pep rally for Homecoming in Leigh, a combined pep
rally, and a football game against Cross County.
Starting off the week, most students and teachers went back in time to Covid. They
rocked their “Zoom call” outfits with a dressed-up top and a casual dressed bottom. The winners
were Macy Clausen and Cater Timm. Also on Monday all the junior high and senior high
students decorated the doors and hallway to show off Patriot pride.
For the second day, there was a career fair in the morning, but people did not fail to
disappoint for the homecoming dress up theme. The theme for Tuesday was soccer moms and
barbecue dads. Brianne Kuhr won for the best soccer mom and Aubrie Hanna won for the best
barbecue dad.
On Wednesday, everyone put in great effort for class unity day. The 7th grade did Santa
and his helpers. All of the 8th grade dressed up as different Adam Sandler characters along with
the normal Adam Sandler outfits. The freshman dressed up as characters from Despicable Me.
The sophomores dressed up as Scrabble letters. The juniors’ theme was “rhyme without a
reason” with many different outfits that rhymed. Then the seniors won with all of them dressed
up as Disney princesses with one prince charming.
Inspired by the popularity of the new Barbie movie, the theme for Thursday was Barbie
vs Ken. The winners were James Grotelueschen as Ken, Trevor Hoffman as Barbie, and
Matelyn Rayback also as Barbie.
Along with the theme of Barbie there was a pep rally in the afternoon for the
Homecoming candidates. The couples were dressed as Taylor Swift and Travice Kelce, Scooby
and Shaggy, patient and a nurse, and cop and robber. They did games like a fun marshmallow
throwing game and some fun trivia questions.
On Friday everyone decked out in their Patriot attire and showed off their Patriot pride.
The people that dressed up the most were Sydney Messerlie and Morgan Bunner.
Along with the Patriot attire there was a combined pep rally with Clarkson in Leigh. Along
with many cheers, the cheer team put together some activities for the football players and then
the volleyball team. The dance team and football boys did a dance to Barbie Girl. The band
played a song to start the pep rally along with playing the school song to end the pep rally.
Later that night, the Patriots went against the Cross Country Cougars for the
Homecoming game in Leigh. Then on Saturday the Homecoming game took place in Clarkson.
