LHS Sophomores Shadow at Various Companies

On December 12th, the sophomores of Leigh High School received the opportunity to job shadow a person or persons of a career they are interested in. The sophomores take a career class with Mrs. Megan Hillen. In this class they learn about all the different career fields, and specific careers that come with them. The students also get to hear from different guest speakers about their personal careers.

The students went to several different towns, and shadowed many businesses that fit with their career aspirations:

Luke Eisenmann - Lakeview Public Schools, Sydney Messerlie - Columbus Public Schools, Mia Glissman-Mayner - Dynamic Life, Elizabeth Hoffman - Tooley’s, Jocelyn Donnelly - Columbus Fire and Rescue, Sofia Hake – NPPD, Brett Wemhoff - West Point Implement, George Waterman – Peterbilt, Neveah Zulkoski - Fountain Point Medical Center

Karly Wendt - Fountain Point Medical Center, Kyle McMullin – AKRS, Ava Kasik - Faith Regional Hospital, Lexis Gleason - Norfolk Fire Department, Brayden Loseke - Nucor Detailing Center.

Careers Class Teacher Mrs. Megan Hillen said, “The sophomore job shadow experience is a great opportunity for our students to learn more about their career interests. They are able to network with professionals in their chosen field and learn more about the world of work.”

Sophomore Sofia Hake said, “It was a good learning experience. To observe the daily details of a type of job that I might be interested in someday was very beneficial.”
