Patriots Take Down Twin River in Three Sets

Cassidy Hoffman and Kennedy Settje go up for a block against the Titans.

On Patriot Parents’ Night, the Patriots defeated Twin River on all three levels. The C-team was ready to play and beat Twin River in two sets. The JV carried the energy from the C-team and won in two sets.

Coach Weitfeld, the JV coach, said, “It was a night of victories for all levels. The girls were able to play well and work on the little things. They soon discovered that in order to stay on top of their game they would have to continue to talk and be vocal.  Our teams can be extremely successful when we worked as one team, play together and communicate. This made for a fun and exciting parent's night!.”

The varsity had big shoes to fill after both the C-team and JV won in two sets. They kept up the momentum and won in three sets.

In the first set, the Patriots defeated the Titans easily 25-15.  From here, they never let the Titans back in the game, winning the second and third set 22-25 and 20-25.

Kayden Schumacher and Kim Stodola paced the team on offense with 12 and 11 kills respectively.  Makenna Held recorded 31 set assists. She also led the team in digs with 14.

Taylor Larson said, “I felt we played very well against Twin River and scored a lot of big points. We didn't have the full celebration and talk like we are used to which kind of hurt us at times. Overall it was a fun team to beat!”
