Senior Spotlight: Ben Kuhr

Our latest senior in the spotlight is Benjamin Kuhr. Ben was born January 9th, 1997, in Columbus, Nebraska to proud parents Russ and Beth Kuhr, Ben is the second oldest of four kids: Zach, 19, Holly, 14, and Brianne, 8. Ben also has a dog named Chipper.

Throughout high school, Ben has been in football, band, speech, and FFA all four years, track and National Honor Society for three years, One-Act Play for two years, and basketball and journalism for one year. Honors that Ben has accumulated include being named FFA officer, football captain, class officer, and lettering in all his activities.  He has also made the All A Honor Roll for four years.  He has earned State Speech medals, FFA Speaking Awards, Patriot Lifter of the Year Award, All-District Football team Honorable Mention Member, and All-State Academic Football Team Member.

Upon graduation Ben plans to attend Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska and major in utility line. Ben’s goals in life are after college become a journeyman lineman and help provide electrical distribution to people.

Ben’s hobbies include watching and playing sports, hanging out with family and friends, hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities. Ben’s favorite song is More Than a Feeling by Boston. His favorite foods are steak and spaghetti.

Bens favorite high school memory is winning the first football playoff game in Patriot history his senior year. Ben says he doesn’t have a most embarrassing moment because there are to many to list. His advice to underclassmen is, “High School is for education and fun. Enjoy these days with your classmates.”
