Senior Spotlight: Jared Olson
Launch the media gallery 1 playerOn November 13, 2006, Mike and the late Caree Olson were blessed with their first son Jared Michael Olson.
Jared was born in Onawa, Iowa. Jared has one older sister, Rylee, age 22. Jared is the grandson of Vic Olson of Columbus, NE.
Throughout Jared’s high school career, he has been involved in FFA and One-Act play for four years, and Leigh Youth Advisory Committee for three years.
He says his proudest accomplishment in school is “never getting held back.”
His favorite high school memory is “locking Carter in the tool room my freshman year.”
Hs most embarrassing high school moment was hitting a pole in the school parking lot before a One-Act performance.
Outside of school, you are most likely to find Jared working at Double Creek Farms. He also says his favorite thing to do outside of school is “having fun with the boys.”
After graduating high school, Jared plans to attend Northeast Community College for Ag Business and Agronomy. In 10-15 years, Jared says he sees himself “working.”
If Jared won a fortune in the lottery, he would buy a house, a semi-truck, and then put the rest in savings. Some things on his bucket list include making money, getting married, and having kids.
If Jared could travel anywhere in the world, he says he would go to Vegas because he has heard it’s a good time.
If you asked Jared to describe himself in three words, he would describe himself as fun, chill, and intelligent. But he might not be so chill if someone is dragging their feet because that is his biggest pet peeve.
Someone who Jared admires in his life is Dan and Jordy Wilke because “they are both good, hard-working dudes.”
Jared has a lot of favorites. His favorite subject is lunch, favorite TV show is Dexter, favorite song is “Close Encounters”, favorite sports team is the Huskers, and his favorite food is a hamburger.
Before he no longer walks the halls of Leigh High, Jared’s words of inspiration to underclassmen are “Do what you want because in 10 years it won’t matter.”
