Senior Spotlight: Jason Ober

June 6, 2000 was a great day for Alex Ober and Christina Brown as they welcomed their second child, Jason Scott Ober, into the world.

Jason has an older brother, Nickolaus Ober, who graduated from Leigh last year.

He also has a younger brother, Darian Ober-Brown,14, who is an eighth-grader at Leigh this year.

In addition to his family, Jason also has 4 dogs, 7 cats, and 20 rabbits.

Jason attended Columbus Public schools until transferring and finishing out his junior and senior year at Leigh.

During his time at Leigh he has participated in track and One-Act.

Jason says that one of his proudest moments was joining the One Act crew and winning State, and it is also his favorite high school memory.

He describes himself as kind, tough, and passionate.

His favorite hobby is skateboarding, his favorite subject is industrial tech, specifically construction class.  His favorite song is “Call Me” by Shinedown. His favorite restaurant: Skeeter Barnes, and his favorite hobby is playing video games.

After graduation, Jason wants to enlist in the military. He also wants to put up a machine shed for his old, antique cars that he wants to collect. His bucket list includes skydiving, snowboarding, and shooting a paintball gun.

When asked about who he admires most, Jason answered, “David Jacob, my grandfather, who is 72 years old and still working.”

Jason’s advice to underclassmen is: “Keep your grades up and join One-Act.”

Congratulations Jason!  We wish you the very best!
