Cyclones Winless at Tekamah-Herman Triangular
It was a rough night in Tekamah for the Cyclones on Thursday, August 29. The Cyclones knew going in that they would have to step up their game to compete. Their opponents for the night were Tekamah-Herman Tigers and Guardian Angels Central Catholic Bluejays.
During their first game against Tekamah-Herman, they were having a hard time scoring runs against their strong defense. The Cyclones were able to sneak in 3 runs, holding the Tigers at 1 point during the 3rd inning. After the 3rd inning, the Tigers continued to score runs before the Cyclones could answer back. The ending score of the game was 3-12.
Their second game against the Guardian Angels Central Catholic Bluejays was also very one-sided. The Bluejay bats were too much for the Cyclones to handle. After the 1st inning, the Bluejays rattled off 12 points in the next 3 innings. The ending score of the game was 0-12, with the Bluejays blanking the Cyclones.
Senior Payje Rayback said, “We knew right away that we were going to have to play at the best of our ability for both games. We fell short in both games with minimal hits and a few errors here and there that got us down in both games. Overall, I’m still optimistic about the rest of the season.”
The Cyclones season record as of these games sits at 4-3.
