Patriot Golf Competes at Battle Creek

By: Jessica Hoffman a sophomore at Leigh High School

The Patriot Girls’ Golf Team competed in their fourth golf meet of the year on September 14th. They traveled to Battle Creek and competed against Battle Creek, West Point-Beemer, O'Neill, Norfolk JV, West Holt, Hartington CC, Crofton, Norfolk Catholic, and Wayne.

Coach Jayden Pokorney said, “We are very, very excited about how the girls did on Monday! Kaitlyn Fehrer placed 8th. Hazel Mundt just missed out on placing by a few strokes. Our feet are starting to get tired playing 18 holes, but we are able to stay competitive.”

Junior Cortlynn Cadwallader said, “Our team did pretty well for only having three people golf. We had one place and that was exciting for our team to experience. We also all did better once we did our first 9 holes.”

The scores of the Battle Creek Invite included Kaitlyn Fehrer, who shot 105, Hazel Mundt, who shot 119, and Cadwallader, who finished with a 196.

Good luck to the Patriot Girls’ Golf Team at their next meet on at Boone Central!
