Patriot JV Drops Two Games on Opening Night

Last week on Monday, August 29th, the Patriot JV football team was in action for the first
time this season.
This year’s football team is so big that they were able to play two JV games with two
different teams on the same night.
The Elkhorn Valley JV Falcons traveled from Tilden to play Clarkson-Leigh at Clarkson.
Clarkson-Leigh lost this game with a score of 8-38.
The game started off with the Elkhorn Falcon’s taking an early lead, although the
Clarkson-Leigh Patriots countered with an early touchdown. It wasn’t long before the Falcons
gained possession of the lead and kept it for the rest of the game.
“Despite the loss, this game was a good look for our younger plays and a great
experience and challenge,” said junior player Jack Brabec when asked about the Elkhorn Valley
game.
The Patriot JV Football team also played a second game that day at Laurel against the
Lauren-Concord-Coleridge Bears. This game the Patriots fared better with a final score of 26-
42.
This game the scores were a lot closer with the Patriots taking an early lead in the game.
Relentless defense from LCC still resulted in a Patriot loss.
Junior player Nathan Bahns had this to say about the game in Laurel: “We did pretty
good in this game, but we have a lot to improve on for the rest of the season.”
