2023 Senior Spotlight: Jackson Charles Mullenhoff

On May 4th, 2005, Ryan and Kristin Mullenhoff, were blessed with their only child, Jackson Charles Mullenhoff.

Jackson is the grandson of Richard and Tricia Mullenhoff and Art and Shelley Schreiber, both from Leigh, NE. He is the great-grandson of Carolee Mullenhoff of Leigh, and Willard and Sharon Went of Columbus.

He has two dogs that complete his family, Ellie and Emmie.

Three words that describe this senior are hardworking, respectful, and driven.

Throughout Jackson’s years at LHS, he has been in several school activities. He has participated in FFA for 4 years, One-Act for 4 years, Golf for 1 year, and Leigh Youth Advisory Committee for 1 year.

Of all these activities, Jackson says he is most proud of being an FFA officer.

He also says his favorite high school memory is watching his friends win the State Football Championship.

If he won the lottery, he would use the money to buy a ton of ground to farm. He also said he would like to buy a house in Breckenridge, Colorado, and go skiing daily. If Jackson could travel anywhere in the world, he would go to Blackcomb Mountain in Whistler, Canada, and go skiing. He would go there because it is rated the number one place to go skiing worldwide.

Some of Jackson’s favorites include his favorite sports team, the Denver Broncos. His favorite movie and TV show are Suits and Hustle. Jackson’s favorite class is Ag class. Jackson’s favorite jam is “One Thing at a Time” by Morgan Wallen. Buffalo Wild Wings is his favorite spot to eat. While Jackson isn’t in school, his favorite hobbies are lifting weights, working around the farm, and playing cards.

When asked to name three things on his bucket list, Jackson said he would love to sit courtside at an NBA game, go spectate The Masters, and lastly go to the Super Bowl.

Jackson says many people have helped him get to where he is today, and he is grateful to them all, but the people he admires most are his dad, Ryan, and his grandpa, Richard.

“I admire my Grandpa Richard because you will NEVER meet a better person than him; the way he carries himself and treats people and is so down to earth just amazes me, and he is an amazing person.  Then my dad because of his success, work ethic, decision-making, and composure during stressful times.  My dad and grandpa have made such an impact on my life, and I strive to be like both of them.”

Jackson’s future plan is to attend Iowa State University to study Agriculture. In 10-15 years, Jackson sees himself married with a family. He also sees himself working at RedStar and farming on the side.

Jackson’s biggest piece of advice before his time at Leigh High School is complete is “Never let what other people say affect you personally.”

We wish the best of luck to Jackson in his future ahead of him!
