FBLA Chapter Attends State Conference

Loseke Advances to Nationals!

The Clarkson-Leigh Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Chapter competed at the FBLA State Leadership Conference in Kearney on April 3-5. 16 total members attended and competed in various competitions.

“The FBLA state leadership conference went great. Our keynote speaker was very energetic and funny. Our students competed well and walked away with several individual awards,” FBLA Advisor Jennifer Remmereid said.

One of the FBLA members, freshman Brayden Loseke, even qualified for the national competition in June that will be held in Atlanta, Georgia!

Loseke placed 2nd overall in Management Information Systems, earning him the nationals bid.

“It was really great to see our chapter do so well at State.  I’m really happy I placed so high in my event, and I hope I can continue to do well at nationals,” Loseke said.

Other top honors went to senior Dee Rivera and junior Aubrie Hanna, who finished 5th in Broadcast Journalism, and sophomores Emily Stender and Delanie Erwin, who finished 7th in Digital Video Production.

Other members received Honorable Mention, including Chapter President Ashly Villeda with her March of Dimes project.

Other Honorable Mentions went to Hanna in Human Resources Management, Erwin in Entrepreneurship, Korbin Lemburg and Rosie Villeda in Accounting I, and Isaac Baumert in Health Care Administration.

Honorable Mentions in Cyber Security and Intro to Financial Management are still pending at this time.

The Clarkson-Leigh Chapter also earned the March of Dimes Ribbon and the iGive Ribbon.

“State FBLA was another success for our organization,” FLBA Advisor Mr. Matt Murren said.  “We had many members attend, and numerous members were recognized for their accomplishments.  It was excellent for Brayden Loseke to qualify for nationals and get to compete in Atlanta at the end of June!  It was great to have Dee, Aubrie, Delanie, and Emily recognized on stage as well.  7 members were also recognized for Honorable Mention, which means they finished in the top 4% of competitors for their competitions. As you can see, there were lots of awards and recognitions for these members and another successful conference!”
