Leigh FFA Competes at State Land Judging

Representing the Leigh FFA chapter, four members traveled to Wahoo on October 22,
2025, to compete in State Land Judging.

The competition was held by Nebraska's Natural Resource District. At land judging, each
participant learns how to recognize physical features of soil, land capability for crop production,
and evaluate management practices in maintaining the land.
Overall, the state-qualifying team of Luke Eisenmann, Briggs Klug, Caleb Settjie, and
Cade Hoesly placed 31st as a team. Individually, Luke Eisenmann placed 37th out of 149
participants. Cade Hoesly placed 116th, Briggs Klug placed 124th, and Caleb Settje placed
146th.

Sophomore Cade Hoesly said, “State Land Judging was a good experience for the four
of us. We all tried our hardest against the best land judges in the state and we all had a great
time.”
