2023 Senior Spotlight: Jessican Hoffman
On April 20, 2005, Ryan and Kelli Hoffman were blessed with their second child, Jessica Jo Hoffman.
Jessica’s siblings are Cassidy Hoffman, who graduated in 2021; Elizabeth Hoffman, who is a freshman at LHS; and Trevor Hoffman, who is a 7th grader at LHS. Her grandparents are Roger and Karen Bruhn of Leigh and Terry and Bonnie Hoffman of Wakefield. They also have a very loved family cat named Merida.
Jessica has been involved in numerous activities throughout her high school career. She has been involved in FCCLA for 6 years, FBLA for 4 years, Journalism for 4 years, One-Act for 4 years, basketball for 4 years, yearbook for 3 years, Youth Advisory Committee for 3 years, National Honor Society for 3 years, Quiz Bowl for 3 years, and Volleyball for 1 year. Jessica has also been part of her Luther League Church Group for 4 years.
While in high school, Jessica has received many honors. She received Student of the Month; FCCLA STAR medal winner in 2018, 2020, 2022, and 2023; 2022 Nebraska Believers and Achievers Nominee; A Honor Roll for 4 years; 2022-2023 Winter NCPA Academic All-State in Basketball, and finally 2023 Omaha World Herald Honorable Mention in Basketball.
Jessica’s proudest high school accomplishment was making it to state basketball her senior year!
Her future plans include attending Southeast Community College in Lincoln to obtain an Associate’s Degree in business and then getting her real estate license.
If she could travel anywhere in the world, she would travel to Italy because it would be such a beautiful place to visit and she would love to try authentic Italian food.
Jessica says she does have a bad habit of biting her nails.
In 10-15 years, Jessica sees herself being a successful realtor and running her own brokerage.
This corresponds with the top three goals on her bucket list, which are owning her own real estate brokerage, traveling to another country, and swimming with dolphins.
Jessica has many favorites. Her favorite subject in school is Culinary Arts, her favorite TV show is Yellowstone, her favorite song is “Dawns,” her favorite sports team is the Huskers, and her favorite restaurant is Panera Bread.
The three words that best describe Jessica are determined, energetic, and friendly. Her advice to underclassmen is to “Work hard in school and get involved. These opportunities will make you a better person and may provide opportunities for you in the future. You will never regret being involved!”
Congratulations Jessica and the rest of the class of 2023!
