Mr. Brester Joins Staff as New Sixth Grade Teacher

Leigh Community Schools students and staff are welcoming our new sixth grade teacher, Mr. Tyler Brester. Mr. Brester took the position of being the sixth-grade teacher after Mrs. Melissa Brabecs moved to being one of our special education teachers.

Mr. Brester graduated from Howells Public Schools in 2011. After high school, he earned his teaching degree from Wayne State College.

Prior to Leigh, he taught first grade at West Point Public Schools for one year. He then taught second grade at Bellwood Elementary for six years.

In addition to teaching sixth grade, Mr. Brester has taken on some coaching assignments as the assistant high school volleyball coach and junior high boys’ basketball coach.

Outside of school, Mr. Brester likes spends his time watching football and playing sand volleyball.

In January, Mr. Brester and his wife, Jordan, are expecting their first child.

“I have really enjoyed my time so far at Leigh Community Schools,” said Mr. Brester. “The students, staff, and community members have welcomed me with open arms and made me feel right at home. I couldn't think of a better place to be teaching at!”

Good luck to Mr. Brester in this upcoming school year. We are so excited to have you in Leigh!”
