Mrs. Linda Bachman Lights Up Fridays at LCS
Mrs. Linda Bachman, a paraprofessional at Leigh Community Schools, started a new tradition at the end of last school year in the elementary to get all the students up and moving. This was called Fun Friday.
Fun Friday is a way to get all the students involved and participate in an activity each Friday morning, and it has grown into a cherished tradition at LCS. Fun Friday is a great way to end the week and get the students excited for what they accomplished during the week.
Linda Bachman came up with this idea at the end of last year because she wanted to reward the kids after working so hard throughout the week. She started this because she thought it would be a great way to show appreciation towards the students’ hard work.
Mrs. Bachman takes the idea to new heights every Friday morning, putting in so much time and dedication and getting others involved as well. She has already done a whole bunch of different activities with the elementary students this year such as line dancing, yoga, ballon tennis, dress the snowman, football shoots, balloon tennis, cookie decorating, and had a special Grinch visit. She and the students also colored veteran pictures and brought them to the Norfolk Nursing Home to hand them out.
This past Friday, the high school senior students were even able to participate in Fun Friday on their last Friday ever at Leigh High School, taking part in several fun activities with the lower elementary students as the entire elementary and high school watched.
Both the students and Mrs. Linda Bachman hope this special program continues each week!
Mrs. Linda Bachman stated her thoughts on Fun Friday: “I like to see the kids have fun. These activities bring smiles to the kids’ faces and they truly enjoy participating in the Fun Friday activity. It’s a way of showing appreciation and all their hard work that they put in throughout the week.
Leigh Superintendent Mr. Cole Fischer, when asked about his thoughts on Fun Friday, stated, “We are very grateful for Mrs. Bachman’s activities on Friday. The kids thoroughly enjoy her activities that she comes up with each Friday and look forward to it each week. Everyone recognizes that Mrs. Bachman goes above and beyond and puts a lot of time into her Friday activities, and we are very grateful for that.
Eisley Urban a sixth grader also shared her thoughts about Fun Friday, “It is a fun activity to end the week, rewarding the hard work everybody put in throughout the week.”
