Loss to Pierce Ends Cyclones’ Season
The Highway 91 Cyclone softball team finished up their season with a first-round loss to Pierce in the Class C Subdistricts in Beaver Crossing.
The girls kept it close, leading it 3-1 going into the bottom of the third before Pierce blew it wide open with an 11-run inning. The girls battled back though, going blow for blow with them as both teams scored 7 through the final 3 innings. Unfortunately, that early rally for Pierce allowed for them to pull out a 10-19 win, ending the Cyclones’ season early
Senior Cassandra Rayback said, “We knew the game was going to be a battle. We continuously fought throughout the whole game, but it didn't end in our favor. Overall, it was a successful season. We are still a young growing team, so hopefully the girls build on that and grow for next year.”
The Cyclones finished the year with a 6-22 record.
