Student of the Month Winners Announced

For the month of November, three outstanding students were awarded “Student of the Month.” The recipients of this month were Tanyn Larson, Brianne Kuhr, and Luke Eisenmann.

Tanyn Larson is the daughter of Bob and Kelsey Larson, and the granddaughter of Rick and Lorie Larson of Creston, and Bill and Georgia Klassen of Lindsay.

Tanyn is very involved with volleyball, track, One-Act, FCCLA, National Honor Society, yearbook, journalism, and Youth Advisory Committee. Her favorite class is culinary arts because she has a fun time in class cooking food and trying new things.

Outside of school Tanyn can be found hanging out with friends and family. Tanyn plans on attending Northeast Community College after high school to major in Nursing.

This is Tanyn’s third time winning this award.

“It feels really good to win this award. It is always nice to be recognized for the work I have been putting in around the school and how I have been treating others. I always try to do what is right all the time and it is nice to see that it has paid off!”

Here is what teachers had to say about Tanyn:

“Tanyn is just an amazing person. She is positive, hardworking, and a really good role model in her extracurricular activities. She always has a smile and a kind word for everyone, and she is a leader in our school.”

“Tanyn has really worked hard this year taking upper level classes and doing what she needs to do in order to be successful in them. She also works hard in her extracurriculars and has a positive attitude constantly.”

The next recipient of the Student of the Month is Brianne Kuhr. This is Brianne’s third time winning.

Brianne is the daughter of Russ and Beth Kuhr, and the granddaughter of Dennis and Norene Kuhr, and Urban and Alice Imholte.

Throughout high school Brianne has participated in golf, One-Act, yearbook, journalism, speech, Youth Advisory Committee, track, and FFA. Her favorite subject is science.

When Brianne isn’t busy with school and extracurriculars she enjoys playing cards, hunting, ice fishing, and reading.

Brianne is currently undecided on where she wants to go and what exactly she wants to go into, but she plans on doing some type of a biology major.

After winning student of the month Brianne said, “I really appreciate that the teachers and staff notice that I am trying my best in school and extracurricular activities. It is an honor to be this month's Student of the Month.”

Here is what teachers had to say about Brianne:

“Brianne is a really hard-working student. She is fun to talk to and excels at everything she does.”

“She is very helpful, polite, and truly cares about her academics.”

The final recipient is Luke Eisenmann and this is his second time winning this award. Luke is the son of David and Kimberly Eisenmann, and the grandson of Kenny and Janet Eisenmann of Leigh, and Jim and Jeanne Stuart of Nebraska City.

This year Luke has been involved in football, basketball, FFA, One-Act, speech, and Youth Advisory Committee. His favorite subject in school is social studies. His favorite out of school activities include baking, watching sports, and playing video games.

Luke is currently undecided on what he plans on doing in the future.

This is what Luke said about winning: “It’s an honor to receive this award and it goes to show all of my hard work and time I’ve been putting into school and extracurriculars.”

Here is what Luke’s teachers had to say about him:

“Luke was an awesome One-Act cast member this year. He had a ton of lines to memorize, and it was a lot of work being in every single scene. But he embraced it and did an amazing job. He always had a positive attitude, and even though he’s only a sophomore, he was a leader on the team.”

“Luke is a very unique student – he works hard in all he does and definitely makes every day interesting.”

Congratulations to Tanyn, Brianne, and Luke on being named Student of the Month for November!
