Leigh Speech Team Attends First Meet

And we’re off! 

 

On Saturday, the 8th of February the Leigh speech kids attended their first meet of the year in Schuyler.

 

This year’s speech team is small in number but big in heart.  They are coached by Mr. Dan Prososki.  

 

Those who attended were freshman Albert Dias; sophomores Aiden Miller, Audie Tejkl, and Darian Ober-Brown; and junior Emily Loseke. 

 

Albert Diaz performed his Humorous Prose “Tips for Women”. Out of his two rounds he earned two superior ratings.

 

 Aiden Miller performed his serious poetry “Subliminal Messages” and two rounds of extemporaneous speaking. Out of his four rounds he earned one superior rating for poetry and none for extemp. 

 

Audie Tejkl performed his Humorous Prose “George Carlin's Guide to Fine Dining”. Out of his two rounds he received one superior rating. Darian Ober-Brown also performed a Humorous Prose, “Waffle Houses”. 

 

And finally, Emily Loseke performed her Informative Speaking Presentatino on an art heist in Zurich and her persuasive on small towns. Out of her four rounds, she received 1 superior rating

 

 “I think that our first meet of the year went well, but there is definite room for improvement,” Tejkl said.

 

The schools that attended that meet were Raymond Central, Humphrey Public, Shelby-Rising City, Columbus Scotus, North Bend, East Butler, Schuyler Community Schools, Utica, Centennial, Leigh, Fairbury, Dorchester, and Fullerton.
