Speech Season Begins!
This year’s speech team started off their season at their first meet held in North Bend on Saturday, January 20th.
This year, the speech team members include seniors Aubrie Hanna, Gabriel Pinkston, and Phoebe Glissman-Mayner; junior Brianne Kuhr; sophomores Brayden Loseke, Jocelyn Donnelly, Lexis Gleason, Luke Eisenmann, and Sydney Messerlie; and freshmen Blake Loseke and James Moore. The coaches this year are Kim Loseke and Maddie Gall.
Although the meet left room for improvement for the speech team, Gabriel Pinkston did find success, placing 4th in Humorous Prose and earning 6th place in Poetry.
When asked about this meet, senior Gabriel Pinkston said, “The North Bend speech meet was a successful and significant start to our speech season. There is room for growth, but our team has shown so much promise that I am confident we will make great performers this year.”
Speech coach Maddie Gall said, “With the snow days that occurred, it canceled two of our meets before North Bend and cut our practice time short. Regardless, our students were excited to get their first meet underway! We look forward to our next meet at Wakefield!”
