“Greenhand Day” Teaches Underclassmen About FFA

By: Jared Olson, a freshman at Leigh High School

Recently, on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, the freshmen and sophomore FFA members gained a better understanding about the organization of FFA when they traveled to Central Community College in Columbus to learn about the different roles of FFA and various FFA contests.

Students from many other chapters in the district were also in attendance.

“The freshman and sophomore students who attended the FFA Greenhand Day at CCC in Columbus looked like they had a great time and came back to school with many questions about different FFA activities,” ag teacher and FFA advisor.

Sophomore Jordan Noonan said: “It was a very fun day and gave us all a chance to meet new people.  We also were able to learn about different FFA competitions that we will have a chance to compete in.”
