Cyclones Play in JV Tourney

By: Kammy Held, a freshman at Leigh High School

The JV Cyclone team has had a lot of games recently, and on September 14, the JV played in the Wisner-Pilger Tournament.

Their first game was against O’Neil with a score 0-8 leaving the Cyclones to lose. The second game the Cyclones played NEN with a score 3-4 with the Cyclones coming in close with one point too short. The third game they played Fremont with a score of 5-5 with a tie for the game.

Amaiya Ross, a freshman from Leigh High Schools, said, “For the first game, we held them for the first couple of innings, and then we had a bad inning, which led them to winning. The second game we played good defense wise with a couple of mistakes and our batting was well. The third game we had one bad inning, but we came back and got our three outs. We had a good up to bat, which led us to tying. I think we played our hardest that day and we improved every game.”

“Overall, despite the losses, a lot of improvement was shown, and it was still a great day to be a Cyclone!”
