FFA Ends Successful year with Annual Banquet

On Friday, April 28th, The Leigh FFA Chapter celebrated all of their successes from the past year at the annual FFA Banquet.

The banquet consisted of a meal, opening ceremonies, awards, video recap of the year, worker auction, retiring addresses from the seniors, and the induction of the 20234-2024 Leigh FFA officer team.

Many members were recognized for all their hard work and contributions to the Leigh FFA Chapter. Awards received by members included numerous awards earned throughout the year. 

There were four different chapter awards given out: Most active members, star member, best record books, and members of the year.

There were five recipients of the Most Active Member award: Carmen Malena, Most Active Junior High Member; Nevaeh Zulkoski, Most Active Freshman; Kammy Held, Most Active Sophomore; Jordan Noonan, Most Active Junior; and Dalton Zulkoski, Most Active Senior.

There were four winners of the outstanding record book award: Quentin Mullenhoff, Kammy Held, Nathan Bahns, and Jackson Mullenhoff.

The Star awards were given to Carmen Malena, Star Discovery; Luke Eisenmann, Star Greenhand; Jackson Mullenhoff, Star in Ag Placement; and Sydney Reeves, Star in Production.

The Member of the Year award was given out to Sydney Reeves and Dalton Zulkoski.

After all the awards were given out, the recap video was presented, the members were sold in the Worker Auction, and the seniors had their Retiring Addresses.

The night ended with the installment of the new 2023-2024 Leigh FFA Officer team. The new officers are Nevaeh Zulkoski - Junior Advisor, Quentin Mullenhoff - Parliamentarian, James Groteluschen - Sentinel, Delanie Erwin - Historian, Luke Eisenmann - Reporter, Kyle McMullin - Treasurer, Kammy Held - Secretary, Brianne Kuhr - Vice President, and Jordan Noonan - President.

“The FFA banquet went very well. We had a good meal and were very successful with our auctions,” FFA president Jordan Noonan said. “We also got to induct our new FFA officers which was great. I know we are all looking forward to next year.”

FFA Advisor Alyssa Went said, “What a year we had! We had a lot of success this year and that’s a testament to our members! We look forward to accomplishing even more in the coming year!”
