Mrs. Stephanie Dostal Is New Second-Grade Teacher

Mrs. Steph Dostal is the new second-grade teacher this year for Leigh Community Schools!

Mrs. Dostal is no stranger to the district, as she has worked as a substitute teacher and paraprofessional at Leigh in the past.  She will now be teaching one of two second-grade classes along with Mrs. Nicole Kabes teaching the other.

Dostal graduated from Waukee, Iowa in 2008. After she graduated high school, she went to the University of Nebraska-Omaha and graduated with a Business degree in 2012.

When she got married and moved to the Leigh area, she went back to school to obtain an education degree. Dostal graduated from Wayne State College in 2022. She has also recently started her Reading Specialist Master’s program from Wayne State College.

Mrs. Dostal also teaches dance in Norfolk and helps with their competition team. She is also the Clarkson-Leigh Patriots Dance Team coach as well.

With all those roles, it seems like she can’t have any free time, but if she does have a minute, she loves reading, crafting, and hanging out with family and friends.

Mrs. Dostal is Married to her husband Kurt, who works at Citizen’s State Bank in Leigh.  They have two daughters. Hadlee is seven years old and in second grade. Jaylynn is 5 years old and in preschool. Mrs. Dostal loves watching her children showing cattle, dancing, and doing gymnastics.

Mrs. Dostal said, “This year has already been going so fast. I’m excited to watch the growth of my students and make more connections with my colleagues and the community of Leigh.”

We are so excited to have Mrs. Dostal teaching in Leigh and hope she has a great first year!
